Arthur is a well-mannered young man. He respects others' choices and is not really the type to argue with people. He's a go-with-the-flow type of guy. He's usually a quiet person, especially when he reads, and he's not one to hold a grudge. When it comes to Art, Arthur is protective and sees him as a child he's willing to take care of. He only lets people play with Art if both are okay with it.

Arthur grew up with his father and 2 younger siblings. His mother walked out on them one day weeks after the youngest child arrived for another man, which made his father struggle with taking care of the children. The family owned a local doll shop, and Arthur would sometimes help out and get another job during his free time to help support the family.

Age 16 and Arthur received a doll from his father. He was told that it has been passed down from generation to generation in his family, and they talked about what "doll makers" were. Being the oldest, Arthur was the one to form the bond with this doll. For some reason.... He really loved it, but they weren't close enough to seal the bond. Its' name was Art, who dressed like a sailor boy, and loved to draw. Arthur would take it to school with him and often get called names for bringing such a thing.

At the age of 21, he decided to leave England and go to Japan to see if opening up a shop there would earn more money and send some of it to his father. He took Art with him, their friendship was obvious with Art's new paintbrush and Arthur's matching charm, but they had yet to seal their bond. Arthur opened up a book store and he lived right on top of it. People often visited his store, filled with books from poetry to tutorials to graphic novels.

One night, he closed the store and took a stroll with Art. Arthur held him like a baby as they walked to the park, then into the woods. For a while, everything seemed peaceful until Arthur was suddenly attack by cursed dolls. Art cried out for his master, and Arthur bolted for a way out. Out of ways to run away from the cursed dolls, he looked down at Art and kissed his head, sealing the bond between them.

Art turned into a human boy and told Arthur to run as he fought off the cursed dolls.


Out of breath, Arthur fell to his knees at the entrance to the park and turned to see if Art was following. He smiled once he saw the now-human doll run towards him happily with his giant paint brush in his arms and tackled him into a hug.

The two now spend their nights purifying cursed dolls and days selling books and meeting new people.

Art is only a child, so he acts like one. He's always happy and full of energetic. He has an optimistic attitude and encourages others to do their best. When it comes to Arthur, Art is protective of him as well and does what he can to keep his master safe. He looks up to Arthur as his guardian than a master. Though, if he doesn't get what he wants, he tends to pout and be stubborn.
